(SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ, 8/14/2017) – Today, the New Jersey chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-NJ), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, will join U.S. Congressman Bill Pascrell in a press conference 11:30 a.m. at the Municipal Courthouse in Secaucus, N.J.
Given the response from President Trump after the tragedy in Charlottesville, Va., and the increasing prominence of dangerous white supremacy groups, the representatives will call on action from the White House and our nation's leaders.

"We condemn this act of domestic terrorism, urge all Americans to denounce the racists and Islamophobes brought to that city by the ‘Unite the Right’ rally,” said James Sues, executive director of CAIR-NJ. “The reluctance of President Trump to call out these racist groups by name and denounce their ideology constitutes a failure of moral leadership and serves to further embolden the followers of this movement.”
